Turn Failure into Success by Doing This!

Click on the thumbnail above to watch the video to turn failure into success.

If you would rather read the script of the above video please read on.

So, failure; it breeds success! We kinda know that. Gurus will tell us all the time, these great motivational speakers will tell you that failure, the more you have of it, the more successful you will become.

However, they are missing one vital ingredient, one ingredient that ensures that if you do makes failures, that these failures will become successes much, much quicker.

My name is Mark Bowden, and I’m from https://mbhypnosisdownloads.com and this video will be all about giving you that one vital ingredient that will turn your life around and create successes much quicker from your failures.

So failure. We do know it does help you towards that road to success. We know because you put action into place. You do things, you’re out there creating momentum and motivation to get things done. When we do this it stands to reason that the end result is gonna be a little bit closer to success However, the difficulty is that we miss out on that one vital ingredient that gets you there and that is what I’m going to give you now.

The Great and Famous Failures

Throughout history we have many, many anecdotes on why failure will breed success. To begin with the great Thomas Edison. The man that created the light bulb. He actually said, “I have not failed 10,000 times. I’ve just found 10,000 ways of how not to make a light bulb.”

And there are numerous other people throughout history that have pointed to the reason for their success as being the failures that they’ve been making. People such as Michael Jordan, one of the most successful basketball players in the history of basketball. He famously said, and you may even have heard this quote,

“I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot, and I’ve missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed.”

After hearing brilliant quotes like this is it’s any wonder why the gurus and the motivational speakers will jump on this bandwagon and say, “Right, failure! The more failure you have, the more success you have!”

I’m not actually going to argue with them because that is actually something that I believe in myself, but we’ve just got to tweak that, we’ve gotta tweak it slightly.

So for example, when we think failure is a good thing, what we’re thinking about is making this failure into a real positive thing. We are saying that the more failures I have, the more positive this will be and the more successes I have.

The Problem With Pure Positive Thinking

The problem I have with that comes from the problem I kind of have with positive thinking, now, positive thinking is infinitely better than negative thinking. Negative thinking engages an awful part of your brain, the primitive brain. Positive thinking will engage the intellectual part of your brain.

Wonderful, absolutely brilliant. But if you pull it back, take it back to the real basic term of what positive thinking is and if we think about it in just what it is, positive thinking. Let me give you this anecdote.

So you have someone who’s just lost their job and they think negatively. Their negative thinking is, “I just lost my job. What is the point of applying for another job because there’s nothing out there.”

Now, positive thinking would be: “I’ve just lost my job. What is the point of applying for any more jobs? They’re just gonna come to me! I’m just gonna have to sit down here and in they’ll flow.”

So you can see the problem with that. And it’s the same with this positivity around failure. The more positive we are, it’s like going from one failure to the next failure, to the next failure. What we need to do is we need to critically look at every single failure we’ve had and we have to be adaptable.

More Than Just Adaptable

Not just adaptable, but solution-focused, as well. So we need to look at these failures. We don’t need to look about what’s gone wrong, we need to be looking at what we can improve upon. Every single failure is a new failure, and each time we can have this same approach, so we think, right, okay. This hasn’t gone so well, what do I need to improve upon this?

We don’t want to be looking at what’s gone badly, we want to be thinking what can I improve upon . If we don’t focus on what we want to improve and instead we focus on what’s gone badly (subtly different), we look at it from that mindset. What we’re doing is we’re engaging the primitive part of our brain, the part of our brain that isn’t very creative and it isn’t gonna help you moving forward.

Make that Critical Change in Your Approach to Failure

So just that critical change, as we say to ourselves, “What can I do better?” We also need to be positive. Okay, what went well with that? What are the good parts that I did in terms of this failure? Giving us leverage, putting us into that intellectual, creative part of the brain, and then it’s how can I improve upon this? And really looking at it, in a real critical way. Critical, but not berating yourself.

You need to be looking at it from “how do I improve upon that?” point of view. Just that tiny, tiny, little change in the way that you think, it actually engages the intellectual part of your brain, the real creative part of your brain. The part that makes us different from animals, the part that’s enabled us to accelerate far, far beyond the reach of any other animals.

You don’t see cats and dogs driving cars or on mobile phones, they simply don’t have that amazing, advanced part of the brain, which is the intellectual brain. So every time you’re looking at what’s that failure, how could I improve upon it? Think about it in a real solution-focused way and you’ll take that failure, and you’ll move it onto a success much, much quicker. Even my hypnosis downloads on Positive thinking and Positive Mental Attitude are focused on solutions rather than simply positivity alone.

Make this subtle change to the way you approach failures and you’ll move forward quicker and more effectively on the road to success!

How to turn negative stress into positive motivation

Convert Stress into Motivation Hypnosis Downloads

Having stressful moments is a common experience that we all deal with in our lives. The reason for your stress can be caused by your family, job, finances; or all of these factors being combined together. When your stress starts to become too hard to handle, you begin to look for ways to cope with the pressure that you are under. Most people tend to find coping mechanisms that only cause more harm, rather than doing good. The common coping mechanisms are drugs, alcohol, and explosions of anger.

Dealing with stress in this manner only makes your current situation more difficult. You are actually prolonging your problems by not dealing with them in a productive manner. This causes you to remain in a state of depression and anger, which makes it impossible for you to live a positive life.

You desperately want to live a life that is full of positivity and opportunity but often times you are your own worst enemy. Although your stress may very well be caused be real problems, you tend to make small issues bigger than they should be. Something as small as you being late on a bill leads to you having an anxiety attack due to you believing your world is going to end. Unless you were born into the 1% , everybody has dealt with minor financial setbacks. That is just how life goes.

You know what you need to do, but it isn’t that simple

When things do not go your way, you need to take the time to relax and get your thoughts together. You react with emotions, rather than logic, you cause yourself to think of the worst. When logical thinking is used instead, you think of solutions that lead to a positive outcome for your situation. But, this cannot occur when you allow stress to corrupt your thoughts, which influence your actions.

Stop for a moment to think about what you are currently stressed about in your life. Is the stress that you are dealing with actually worth the energy you give to it? When you take the time to actually understand why you are stressed, you will discover that you are making your life more difficult than it needs to be.motivation from stress

Yes, we live in a tough world and life is not fair. But, once you actually accept the meaning of this saying, you start to realise that your life is what you make of it. If you allow yourself to get beaten down in life, you will become a victim to the world. If you understand that your current setbacks are only temporary, you will gain more control over your life.

You have to understand that your life is a constant flow of moments. Some moments have long-lasting effects on your life and others are rarely thought of again. The moments that are long-lasting are that way because you placed significance on that event. The same goes for the stress that is within your life. It is only considered stress because you give it the significance to be considered worthy of your thoughts.

The brain is a very powerful tool that we are all blessed with. Your brain has the ability to imagine dreams that can become reality when actions are placed behind your thoughts. Now imagine if you gave your mind the freedom to see you living a life of peace and happiness. Those thoughts could become a reality if you allowed positive thinking to dominate your thoughts. Instead, you allow negative thoughts to dominate the thoughts in your head.

The great thing is that you can actually turn your negative stress into positive motivation. You may be thinking that this is impossible. The only reason you believe this is because your stress currently controls you, rather than you controlling your stress. It is time to reverse your current reality so that you can start to live a more positive life.

Think about your long-term vision

Every person that lives in the world should have a long-term vision that guides the direction of their life. A long-term vision is not simply a dream. It is a strategy that you work on executing every single day. These are the short-term and long-term goals you set that must be accomplished so that your live a life you enjoy.

When you have a long-term vision, you understand that you face an uphill battle to make your desired life come into fruition. This is because nothing worth having comes easy. You will deal with frustrations and setbacks that make your journey towards success difficult. But, this is only motivation for you to accomplish your goals. The journey you endure makes the success worthwhile.

Where would these guy’s be if they gave in?

Steve Jobs was fired from his own company only to come back to transform it into one of the most dominant companies in the world. Michael Jordan was cut from his high school basketball team and now is recognised as the greatest basketball player to have ever played. There are countless other stories of now highly successful people who dealt with significant setbacks in their past. They just did not allow themselves to be defined by the difficulties they were faced with. They knew they had to weather the storm and improve themselves to get to their desired destination.

You have to have the same mindset when it comes to your life. Just because things are not going your way now does not mean that you allow stress to rule your life. If that occurs, you will never produce the lifestyle that you want for yourself. Look at your setbacks as motivation to improve your circumstances. You have the power to change your life if you believe in yourself enough to accomplish what you have set out to do.

Take a moment for reflection

Stressful moments are the perfect time to reflect upon what matters most in your life. Often times you are giving negative situations in your life more power than they should have. You then start to think in a negative manner, which produces negative outcomes in your life.

As previously stated, the mind is a powerful thing. Whatever you allow to dominate your mind becomes your reality. It is called the law of attraction. Your mind attracts things to your life that reflect your dominating thoughts.

You will find that successful people always say that their mindset was a very important factor in them gaining their success. This is because if they welcomed defeating thoughts into their mind, they would have never earned their success.

Start conditioning the empowering thoughts

When you start to feel stress creeping up into your head, you need to stop the urge to stress and think about the outcome you want for your life. Other people’s issues are not your own. You having a lack of money is only momentary if you continue to work hard to improve your finances. Every issue that you are currently dealing with can become the past if you are focused on a better future. But, your current problems will follow you into the future if you continue to give them the energy to remain in existence.

If you want a positive change in your life, you will focus your thoughts only on you living in a positive reality. Life is a journey that never ends until your final breath is taken. When you completely come to terms with this fact, you will stop allowing stress to hold back the progression of your life.

Make success your reality

Are you familiar with the saying “fake it till you make it”. It means that you should represent yourself as if you are living your desired lifestyle even if it is not your current reality. This is positive reinforcement to create the life that you desire for your future.

When success is your mindset it influences the actions that you take in your life. The actions that you take in your life produce the outcomes that you experience on a consistent basis. If stress becomes your reality, then stress is all that you will find within your life. Of course, you will have moments where you are under intense pressure that challenge your positive mindset. This is when you have to believe in yourself the most to not allow negativity to stress you out.

Gaining success requires you to turn stressful moments into motivation so that you do not lose sight of what you want to produce within your life. You do not want your stress to become a reflection of your reality. Therefore, you need to make sure that you reduce your stress in favor of living a life that is positive, which leads you to a prosperous future.

How do you think that the innovations that shape our lives today were produced? It was done by people taking doubt out of their minds and only keeping their end-goal in mind. They lived and breathed their desires until they came into fruition. It did not matter about the difficulties that they faced in the moment. All they were concerned about was succeeding, in spite of how difficult their journey to success sometimes became.

Your stress is fuel for your success

People all over the world deal with difficult moments every day. This is not to diminish the problems that you are going through. Rather, it is to remind you that you are not the only one who deals with stress within your life. If people can rise above poverty, hunger, drug use, and still become successful; you have no reason to allow the stresses in your life to hold you back.

How you react to the stress in your life is what determines your future. You can either control your problems or allow them to control you. If you choose to gain control, you will discover that your life becomes much more enjoyable because you control the thoughts that are allowed to roam throughout your mind.

Are you ready to take control of your thoughts so that you can manage the stress in your life better? I would love to help you create a life where you eliminate your stress and instead focus on creating happiness and success within your life.

Which is Better – Goal Setting or New Year’s Resolutions?

what is an ew years resolution

New Years Eve Resolutions

What is your new year resolution? Do you have one?

At the end of every year, there’s an exciting new opportunity to begin a new year with a fresh, clean slate.

You (or someone you know) talks enthusiastically about changes desired in the New Year. The motivation is high as resolutions are made.

This year will be different! This year, you’re absolutely going to stick to your resolution of (fill in the blank). Think of some of the most common new year’s resolutions… Whether you want to quit smoking, lose weight or become highly organised in the New Year, you feel confident and have made a resolution to make it happen.how to set goals in life

Best new years resolutions doomed to fail?

You know what probably happens next, right?

No matter how committed or motivated you are on December 31st, usually those resolutions fall by the wayside within the first 30 days. What happened? How can you be so positive that you will stick with your resolutions only to fall flat and abandon them in less than six weeks?

While doing some research as to why this seems to happen almost every single year, I came across some really helpful information to share with you.

First of all, there may be several things going on here which once you understand them, will make sense as to why all these resolutions are discarded so quickly.

What’s in a word?

For starters, “resolution” is a word that kind of borders on the negative side. According to the dictionary, the word resolution means, “the act of resolving or determining upon an action, course of action, method, procedure, etc.”

my new year resolutionNow to me, that sounds pretty serious and intimidating, right?

What you are basically telling yourself is that you have resolved – or absolutely committed to – doing something. A resolution sounds so final and unchangeable. It makes you feel like you have to do whatever it is you’ve resolved to do, whether you really want to or not.

It’s a bit like a boot camp where on January 1st, you begin basic training. There’s no flexibility, changing your mind or re-thinking a resolution.

I don’t know about you, but if I’m coming from a “resolution-type” of mindset, odds are I’m going to come up with excuses as to why it won’t work. I might even consider reasons why this resolution was a bad idea from the beginning.

Once the excuses set in, the guilt is not too far behind. Once there are excuses and guilt, it’s time to throw up your hands and just give up on the whole thing. You start to feel bad because once again, you weren’t able to stick with something you’ve “resolved” to do.

With all of these negative feelings surrounding a resolution, it may just be that you need to focus on something a bit more positive and empowering.

Something like goals….

What is meant by goal setting?

When you talk about goals instead of resolutions, more positive feelings have the chance to surface. Setting a goal doesn’t sound as much like being locked into an absolute, final result.

If you set a goal, you can set mini goals along the way to hit your big, end result goal.

The word “goal” sets a more positive spin on starting out to achieve anything. With a goal, you can make changes or tweak things as need be.

For example, if you have a goal of losing weight, a mini goal might be to drink more water to feel full or get more vegetables into your diet. With a goal, there is more than one way to get there and changes to something that might work better are welcome. If one thing isn’t working, you can change your mini goal along the way to see if another option might work better.

By coming up with realistic and achievable mini goals, the bigger end goal doesn’t seem so out of reach.

The positive reinforcement you can see and measure along the way is fueled by achieving mini goals and scratching them off the list. You can break a big goal down into manageable chunks that you can work on every week or every day to make progress.

In addition, goals seem so much more personal than resolutions. And if something is more personal to you, it automatically gives you the edge of more motivation.

You can sit down and understand why you really want to achieve a goal, by listing off lots of reasons that it’s personal and important to you.

Resolutions can sometimes be just too vague and impersonal.

Setting goals encourages rather than intimidates

Goals encourage you to take little but very important steps of action, while resolutions make you feel like you have to build Rome in a day.

Resolutions tend to be a bit more unrealistic with no real plan of action attached to it. Goals are more real and achievable. Once you write them down and put action steps along with them, suddenly, there’s an actual plan to get there.what is your new years resolution

Speaking of writing down your goals, both big and small, really put some thought into it. Get very personal and include why it’s so important to you to achieve your goal.

While doing this exercise, you may discover that the goal really isn’t important to you. That’s another benefit of brainstorming and writing things down. You may start out with a goal you thought you wanted, but after some serious thought and planning, came up with a more urgent or important goal for yourself. This will save a lot of wasted time and energy should you discover that you didn’t really want what you thought you wanted.

Having clarity in this goal-planning process is key because it will save a lot of frustration and discouragement down the road. By spending more time on your potential goals and the more specific you get on understanding why you want to go for it, you’re really half way there.

So, how to set goals and achieve them? Here are the tips for effective goal setting that I found in my research:

How to set goals for yourself

End of year clean up

In order to truly make a fresh, clean start in the New Year, it’s time to do some clean-up.

Take a bit of time to reflect on the past year and what you accomplished. Don’t dwell on what you didn’t do, as this sets the stage for a negative mindset which is what you’re trying to clean up and get rid of at this point.

You may find it helpful to clean up the house, get rid of excess clutter or start on a detox program to thoroughly clean up your mind, body and surroundings all at the same time.

Spend time living the goal

It’s important to keep big and small goals in mind every day. Spend about 30 minutes throughout each day living as if you’ve achieved your goal. How do you feel? How is your life different now that you’ve hit the goal? How is this year better than last year?

Focus on the feelings of achieving your goal. You already listed out the reasons why it’s important to you.

Taking it a step further and actually focusing on achieving your end goal can make you feel wonderful and ramp up your motivation even more.

Keep a goal setting journal

new year resolution ideas

Right from the beginning, document all the thoughts and feelings that come up as you envision your goal and make a plan.

While spending time imagining how your life will be once you hit your goal, write down any thoughts or feelings you have.

While focusing on already achieving your goal, you may be amazed to find all kinds of ideas and inspiration that comes to you. You may find new ideas you can add in with the mini goals to make the journey easier and more enjoyable.

Also be sure to write down what you envision your life to be after meeting the goal. What do you look like? Where do you live? How has the financial picture improved?

Be open to this exercise as once again, it can really keep you positive and moving in the right direction.

Keep dates in mind

If you are planning mini goals along the way to achieving a bigger goal, be sure to include dates along with your action plans. By giving yourself target dates to have certain things accomplished, it keeps you on track and moving along at a nice clip towards the next action item on your goal list.

This step really helps you plan things better without feeling overwhelmed. By keeping dates in mind, you’ll know what to do today to be prepared for tomorrow.

Stepping up the plan

As you look at your big goal and break it down into manageable mini goals, re-visit the planning pages of your journal and set very specific action steps necessary to move forward.

In this more specific planning stage, you can experiment with and tweak actions along the way.

By setting very specific steps and plans along the way, you can set a more realistic timeline to avoid stress and feeling overwhelmed.

Write Down and Read

Keep a list of your goals posted somewhere you will see it every day. Each morning and each night, re-read your goals.why is it important to set goals

This re-establishes the importance of the goals to you every day and why you’re doing what you’re doing. It makes the goals more real if they’re written down and you can feel good about the progress you’re making each and every day.

Plan Ahead

In any way you can, plan ahead and be prepared. Have supplies ready or phone numbers/websites readily available. By planning ahead, you’ll be less likely to miss a day or make excuses as to why you can’t move forward with your action step today.

It encourages you to stick with it and consistently work through the action steps without distractions or excuses to knock you off track.

Just by planning ahead, you’ll automatically feel organised and successful as a motivation bonus.

I hope you found this information helpful. However, if you still really want to make a resolution for the New Year, make it be to focus on achieving your goals!

Positive Thinking: Why Changing the Way You Think is So Hard

Today’s video is about positive thinking and why this seemingly simple concept, can actually be incredibly difficult to do, so stay tuned.

Let’s face it, at one time or another, we all feel like nothing is working right in our lives.  It’s easy to get frustrated with the way things are going and then let yourself wallow in negative thinking.  One negative thought leads to another, then another, and so on.

Positive Thinking

This pattern of negative thinking and negative self-talk makes our lives seem even worse.  That’s when depression and hopelessness can take over (if you let them).

You’ve all heard about the power of positive thinking and what a dramatic difference it can make in your mood and achieving important life goals.

But, if you’ve always drifted towards more negative than positive thinking, how can you turn this around?  It sounds easy enough, but when you try to be more positive, it just doesn’t seem to be working.  This leads you right back to the old negative thought pattern. I’m going to share four reasons with you that explain…

Simple Steps to Positive Thinking

It Isn’t Always EasyPositive Thinking

While the process to change from negative to positive thinking is simple, it’s not always easy.  Changing any kind of behaviour can be anything but easy.

When you try to follow the process of replacing negative thoughts with positive ones, it is really a rather simple thing to do.  And because you know it’s simple and fail to do it, negative thoughts and guilt takes over.

It’s easy to get discouraged if you didn’t plan well, or didn’t understand something completely, and then you go back to your negative thoughts.

Doing the Work

If you understand wpositive livinghat you need to do to change your thoughts but don’t actually put in the work to make changes, nothing will happen.

For example, if you understand that in order to lose weight you need to consume less calories and exercise but then you don’t do these things, you probably aren’t going to hit your weight loss objectives.

So as with anything in your life, you need to actually plan the work and work the plan.  Understanding alone doesn’t work.

Self-Blame vs. Self-Empowerment

One of your worst enemies is self-blame.  Looking back in time and blaming yourself for things you cannot change will only feed your negative thoughts and feelings.

Every decision you make is based on what you think is a good decision at the time.  Even if your gut is telling you it’s empowermentsomething you may regret, you move forward with your decision based on your current state of mind.

Self-blame is looking back and beating yourself up for making what you now realise was a bad decision.

Now when you are in a more positive state of mind, you can look back and realise that you could have made a different or better decision.  That is self-empowerment, which allows you to move forward confident that you can make better decisions in the future.

Positive Thinking is Your Only Option

Positive ThinkingIf you want to be unhappy, then keep thinking negative thoughts.  Or argue that your way of thinking is right and everyone else is wrong.

No, the only option for you to lead a happier life is to change your negative thoughts to positive ones.

So make those changes and commit to really working on it. Make positive thinking a real part of your life and start feeling the benefits

positive mental attitude

Have you ever felt like you were stuck in a certain place in your life? No matter what you do, you just can’t break out of the rut you seem to be in. It’s not a great place to be.

Although you have dreams and goals, you just can’t seem to make any headway towards reaching them. You try to get motivated, but it doesn’t work. You sort of drift through your days becoming increasingly frustrated that you are…well, stuck.

How do you shake this off and become unstuck? What can you do to get the process moving along more quickly?

I’m going to share 3 easy but effective tips found on the happier.com website.

Just Move

It doesn’t really matter how, but you need to get moving. Whether you take a short walk or take the time for a good stretch, you need to get your heart pumping and allow more oxygen to circulate through your body.

By increasing the oxygen levels to your brain, you’ll be able to think more clearly and focus. By having more clear and focused thoughts, the answer to why you’re stuck may suddenly become very obvious to you.

photo of light exercise

Distract Yourself

The brain is an amazing thing and goes through different phases for different purposes. For example, if you are trying to find the solution to a problem, your brain goes into “focus mode,” where it focuses all its energy on coming up with answers for you.

The brain also has a “relaxation mode,” during which time the brain relaxes and more thoughts and possible solutions are allowed to enter. The thoughts coming through during this phase can seem unrelated, but still offer possible solutions to your problems. During this phase, things you may have never considered before come to mind.

Sometimes when you take your mind of things, the answers or solutions come to you very quickly with very little effort.

thinking of something nice

Just Do it

Another way you can become unstuck is if you just take action. Inspiration often comes while you’re busy working, even in an unrelated way. So if you have no real idea how to proceed, just take any small action in the direction you want to go.

For instance, if you want to change careers, but don’t really know exactly what you want to do, start job hunting. By taking that small action, you may just stumble across a great job opportunity that you may never have considered before.time to take action

If you want to paint a picture, just start painting anything until inspiration strikes. This applies to anything and everything.

Keep in mind that the action you take doesn’t have to be perfect, or an “all or nothing” situation. You can change direction once you get started. Don’t be afraid to take action because it’s not the perfect time, or you don’t know exactly what you should be doing.

Sometimes, what you need to become “unstuck” is staring right at you all along. Use these tips from happier.com, so you can finally identify what’s keeping you stuck, move forward and break out of that rut.

According to the blog at success.com, yes, there is a secret to staying motivated. I’m going to share a few key points of the article to help you get there. I’ll also reveal the incredibly simple secret to keeping yourself consistently motivated.

Lose the Bad Attitude

As you already know, your attitude and outlook are everything. If you have a bad attitude, you’ll find those bad days and bad situations come along a lot more frequently. If you look at the negatives in any situation, well, you’re sure to find what you’re looking for and  you fail to keep a positive attitude and take on a negative one, you’ll automatically lose your motivation. That’s right. If you take on a bad attitude about the work required to achieve a goal, you will really struggle or may never succeed at all.

Stop yourself from focusing on negative thoughts like anger, resentment or what isn’t working.

Focus on the Positive

In order to turn your motivation around, focus instead on the positives in every situation. Don’t keep dwelling on the idea that nothing is working or going right. Don’t keep trying to figure out how the problem got started or whose fault it is.

Rather, even if things aren’t going the way you want them to, think instead about lessons you’re learning. What positives can you take away from what you think is a negative situation?

Keeping a positive attitude is the only way you have a chance to eventually reach your goal. By only focusing on positives, you’ll be able to make the absolute best of any situation.

Awareness

In the article on success.com, they run through a bit of an experiment.

You are asked to just start feeling angry.   Isn’t it interesting that you can’t feel angry unless you focus on a thought that makes you feel angry? And you can try this with any other negative emotion. Focus on feeling guilty or overwhelmed. You’ll notice that you can’t start feeling negative emotions without first thinking about a situation that made you feel that way.

So the next time you’re feeling frustrated, stressed or just downright mad, stop yourself right there. Ask yourself what is really going on to make you feel this way. What are you focusing on? What are you thinking about? That is awareness. It is also called mindfulness or living in the moment, but you get the idea.

In this moment of awareness, you can choose to have a more positive response. You allow yourself a moment there to acknowledge the fact that these unpleasant thoughts aren’t helping you. Take a deep breath and give yourself permission to take control of the situation.

The choice and responsibility to turn it around is up to you.

The Big, Simple Secret to Motivation

So what is the big secret to staying motivated? It is simply making sure you feel good during the process of achieving your goals. Yes, that’s it.

Feeling good is what keeps you motivated.

When you feel good, you are automatically more motivated to follow through on whatever it is you need to do to accomplish your goals.

This applies to big life goals and small, seemingly unimportant ones.

For instance, you have no motivation to wash the car. However, it makes you feel really good to have a shiny, clean car. Or you have absolutely no motivation to pay down your debt. But even if it means going without an expensive coffee every day, you would feel so incredibly good to be out of debt.

If you can focus on the good feelings of the end result, you will find yourself far more motivated to take the steps to get there.

So give these tips a try. If you are able to keep motivated, nothing can stand in the way of you succeeding at any goal you set for yourself.
