5 Ways to Boost Your Productivity
If you want to succeed at work or school, you need to be a productive person. Being able to complete work in a timely manner and perform to the best of your abilities can help you excel. Most people who are highly productive weren’t born with that ability. Productivity is typically a learned behaviors, and that’s good news for those who want to become more productive. Following these tips can help you begin to boost your productivity:
- Concentrate on One Task at a Time. Many people believe that multitasking is the key to productivity, but the opposite is actually true. When you spread your attention across multiple tasks, you’re less likely to be able to give any of them the focus required to get the job done well. Multitasking can slow you down more than you realise. That’s why it’s best to prioritise tasks and complete them one at a time.
- Decide What Tasks to Let Go Of. In the workplace, no one can be a one-man or one-woman show. You have coworkers and subordinates for a reason–to get help completing tasks. Delegating projects, responsibilities and jobs to other people can help you become more productive by allowing you to focus on the tasks that your knowledge, skills and experience are best suited for. Delegating can be scary for some people; it can be hard to trust others to complete work, but in most cases, you’ll find that team members are anxious to stand up and do their part to get work finished in a productive manner.
- Disconnect a Little. Social media and mobile devices definitely have their benefits for business and socialising, but they can greatly interfere with your ability to be productive. Stopping to answer calls, read texts and check out social media notifications doesn’t just waste time; it also interrupts your concentration, meaning you’ll work more slowly when you get back on task. When you’re working on an assignment or project, keep your phone or tablet out of sight and resist the urge to browse to social media sites.
- Be Realistic. You’ll never be able to complete a to-do list if you fill it up with more items that you can possibly finish in a day, week or month. Set realistic expectations for yourself when you’re compiling tasks lists. You’ll be more motivated to be productive if you have a manageable list that you can complete. It is a great idea to take big tasks and break them down into more manageable, smaller ones, so that you can build on your successes and create momentum
- Try Hypnotherapy. Hypnosis is a great way to improve productivity. Through hypnotherapy, it’s possible to engage your subconscious mind to make you more productive and to break habits that get in your way of completing work quickly and efficiently at the office or at home. Hypnosis for productivity can be administered live in person or through Skype with a hypnotherapist, but you can also listen to my Hypnosis Downloads in the comfort of your own home.
